Tips for your first day with Impraise

Attention all Impraise newbies: this quick guide on how to use our feedback app is for you! By now you’ve successfully downloaded Impraise on your phone or logged in on your desktop (or even better, both!) and you’re probably wondering: what now? Worry not, we are here to guide you along the way! Follow these 4 steps and we’ll guarantee that you have a fun, feedback-filled first day as an Impraise user.

Step 1: Add a profile picture

First things first… Show your face! Adding a picture to your profile will personalize the Impraise experience and of course, enable your team members to recognize you ;-)

You can easily do this by going to ‘Settings’ in the drop-down menu in the upper right corner, and clicking on ‘Choose File’ to select a profile picture.

Step 2: Praise your colleagues

Now that your profile has been fully customized, why don’t you go ahead and show one of your superhero colleagues how much you appreciate them by giving them ‘Praise’? It’s never too late to foster a culture of continuous recognition.

Fun fact: did you know that when you give your colleague positive feedback, their brain releases dopamine? This not only makes them feel good, but also increases their innovative thinking and creative problem-solving. And when done regularly, praised employees are more productive, engaged, and more likely to stay loyal to their organization!

So what are you waiting for? Simply select your superhero colleague in ‘People’, then click on ‘Give Feedback’ and ‘Praise’ your heart away!

Step 3: Ask for feedback

And what about yourself? Are you wondering how well you did on your last presentation? How efficiently you ran that stressful meeting? It’s your turn to ask for feedback!

Simply follow these steps:

  • Select ‘Ask for  feedback’ under the ‘Feedback’ tab.

  • Add a title, context, and topic of your feedback request, as well as a person (or people) who you want to receive feedback from.

  • Submit your request! You are now well on your way to nurturing your personal development and managing your performance at work.

Step 4: Set a goal

Now, it’s time for you to sharpen your focus and optimize your efficiency by setting your first goal! Did you know that setting goals at work has countless benefits? To name a few: it allows you to focus on priorities, it guides your decision making, it increases responsibility and ownership of your actions, and of course – there is nothing more motivating that witnessing the completion of your own goals!

In Impraise you can set both personal & work goals by following these steps:

  • Select ‘Set your first goal’ under the ‘Goals’ tab.

  • Choose either ‘Personal development’ or ‘Work goal’ and fill it out. Tip: Learn how to make your goals S.M.A.R.T to get the most out of them.

  • Don’t forget to add a deadline & milestones. Breaking down your goal into smaller, more achievable units, will make it much easier to stay focused and succeed!

  • Note: you can keep your goals private or share them with the rest of your organization, whatever floats your boat.

And voilà! You have now successfully completed your first day as an Impraise user! But, the journey doesn’t stop here… Remember: consistency is key. Praise & Tip your coworkers regularly, always ask for feedback after completing a task or project, and don’t forget to set your goals! As Ken Blanchard said, “feedback is the breakfast of champions”… but if that’s too early for you, Impraise serves it for lunch & dinner too ;-)
